Brian M. Crites - Orthopaedic Surgeon & Sports Medicine Specialist

A board-certified orthopaedic surgeon at Capital Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, PC, Brian Crites, MD, sees patients at the Clive, Ankeny, and Carroll, Iowa, locations. He specializes in general orthopaedics, arthroscopic surgery, sports medicine, knee and shoulder arthroscopy, and knee reconstruction.

An Indiana native, Dr. Crites earned his bachelor’s degree at Hanover College in Hanover, Indiana, and his medical degree at the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, Indiana. He completed his residency and general surgery and orthopaedic surgery internship at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, and an adult reconstructive surgery fellowship at the Center for Hip and Knee Surgery in Indianapolis, Indiana. 

He then completed a sports medicine fellowship at the University of Maryland in College Park, during which he provided medical care for the Baltimore Ravens. After his fellowship, he worked as the head team physician for the University of Maryland and as the team orthopedist for the Baltimore Ravens. Today, Dr. Crites is the team physician for the Iowa Wild, Iowa Wolves, and Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa.

William C. Jacobson - Orthopaedic Surgeon & Sports Medicine Specialist

William Jacobson, M.D., is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon at Capital Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, PC. He sees patients at the Clive, Ankeny, and Indianola, Iowa locations, specializing in arthroscopic surgery for the knee and shoulder. He also focuses on cartilage restoration for the knee.

Dr. Jacobson earned his medical degree from the University of Iowa in Iowa City. After medical school, he completed an internship and residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pennsylvania, and a sports medicine fellowship at the University of Minnesota Sports Medicine Clinic in Minneapolis, Minnesota. During his fellowship, Dr. Jacobson worked with team physicians for the Minnesota Vikings, the Minnesota Timberwolves, and the Minnesota Twins. Dr. Jacobson also serves as the team physician for the Iowa Barnstormers and the Iowa Wolves.

William R. Boulden - Orthopaedic Surgeon

William Boulden, MD, is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon at Capital Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, PC in Clive, Iowa. With over 21 years of experience, Dr. Boulden specializes in general orthopaedic care, diagnosing and treating ailments and degenerative diseases affecting the bones, joints, and muscles, disorders of the spine and surgical treatment, and worker’s compensation needs related to orthopaedic care.

A native of Lenox, Iowa, Dr. Boulden earned his bachelor’s degree and Doctor of Medicine at the University of Iowa in Iowa City. He completed a two-year general surgery residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee and an orthopaedic residency at the University of Nebraska in Omaha.

Todd C. Peterson - Orthopaedic Surgeon

Todd Peterson, DO, is a board-certified physician specializing in orthopedic surgery at Capital Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, PC. He sees patients at the Clive, Perry, and Knoxville, Iowa, locations. A noted lecturer and educator, Dr. Peterson has extensive experience performing surgery to address conditions of the hip, knee, shoulder, and elbow.

A native of Des Moines, Iowa, Dr. Peterson earned his medical degree from Des Moines University. He relocated to Detroit, Michigan, to complete his orthopedic residency at Ascension St. John Hospital, followed by a fellowship in adult reconstructive surgery at the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield, Illinois.

Following his fellowship training, Dr. Peterson returned to Iowa, where he currently serves on the faculty of special medicine at Des Moines University in addition to his duties at Capital Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine. Dr. Peterson is a sought-after lecturer both locally and at the national level.
