ERIKSSON EK RECALLED TO MINNESOTA, REILLY ASSIGNED TO IOWA

Iowa Hosts Charlotte Saturday in Des Moines at 7 PM

DES MOINES, IA – Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher on Saturday announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled forward Joel Eriksson Ek (pronounced JUHL AIR-ihk-suhn EHK) from the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL) and reassigned defenseman Mike Reilly to Iowa.

Eriksson Ek, 19 (1/29/97), tallied a power-play goal in his only game with Iowa this season against Grand Rapids on Oct. 18. He recorded one assist and 10 shots on goal in five preseason games with Minnesota. The 6-foot-2, 197-pound native of Karlstad, Sweden, notched 15 points (9-6=15) in 41 games for Farjestad in the Swedish Elite League in 2015-16. He ranked third on team in game-winning goals (four), fourth in hits (51), fifth in shots (77) and T-6th with a plus-7 rating. His nine goals were the most by a junior player in the League. Eriksson Ek played for Sweden at the 2016 World Junior Championship and tallied two points (1-1=2) and 25 shots on goal in six games.

He tallied six points (4-2=6) with Farjestad in the Swedish Elite League in 2014-15, the most by any Under-18 player and notched 32 points (21-11=32) in 25 games with the Farjestad Junior team, leading the league in goals. Eriksson Ek collected six points (5-1=6) in five games for Sweden at the 2015 Under-18 World Championship. He was selected by the Wild in the first round (20th overall) of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.

Reilly, 23 (7/13/93), has skated in two games with Minnesota this season and one with Iowa. The 6-foot-2, 193-pound defenseman owns seven points (1-56=7) in 31 career NHL games with Minnesota and 23 points (5-18=23) in 46 career AHL contests with Iowa.

Iowa continues a seven-game home stand on Oct. 22 with the Charlotte Checkers at 7 PM. Saturday night is Ladies Night, with drinks specials throughout the game. The Brewdog Pack is available for purchase, which includes a Bud Light and a hot dog at the game, as well as a Bud Light after the game at Legends Bar and Grill.

Iowa continues a seven-game home stand on Oct. 25 at 7 PM with the Cleveland Monsters. For every Tuesday game of the year, Kids Eat Free (12 and under), presented by Goodhue-Nolte and 96.5 Country. Fans that present a Subway coupon will be able to purchase a ticket for $5.

Iowa’s last game of its opening seven-game home stand is on Friday, Oct. 28 at 7 PM with the Milwaukee Admirals. It’s a Hat Trick or Treat night, which begins with Pregame Trick or Treating on the Concourse. Friday’s game is also a $2 Beer Night, presented by 100.3 The Bus. There will be a Postgame Skate after the game for all fans.
