IOWA WILD RECALLS GOALTENDER HUNTER JONES FROM HEARTLANDERS

DES MOINES, Iowa – Iowa Wild General Manager Mike Murray today announced that the American Hockey League (AHL) club has recalled goaltender Hunter Jones from the Iowa Heartlanders of the ECHL. 

Jones, 22, holds an 11-17-9 record in 38 games this season with a 3.07 goals-against average (GAA), and a .905 save percentage (SV%) with the Heartlanders. The 6-foot-5, 205-pound native of Brantford, Ontario also appeared in one game for the Iowa Wild this season on Nov. 19 at Milwaukee and posted 26 saves in a 2-1 overtime loss. Jones has appeared in 29 games with the Iowa Wild over the past three seasons. 

Prior to his professional career, Jones spent three seasons with the Peterborough Petes in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), where he recorded 62 wins across 121 appearances. Jones was drafted in the second round (#59 overall) of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft by the Minnesota Wild. 

Jones wears sweater No. 92 with the Iowa Wild.
