MINNESOTA WILD RECALLS FORWARD MATT READ

Minnesota Wild General Manager Paul Fenton announced today the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled forward Matt Read from the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL) under emergency conditions.

Read, 32 (6/14/86), has recorded 31 points (15g, 16a), 30 penalty minutes (PIM) and four power-play goals in 50 games with Iowa this season. He ranks third on the team in goals and fourth in scoring. The 5-foot-10, 188-pound forward has also appeared in five games with the Minnesota Wild. He owns 187 points (87g, 100a) and 83 PIM in 442 career NHL games during eight seasons (2011-19) with Philadelphia and Minnesota. The native of Ilderton, Ont., has collected 10 points (5g, 5a) in 30 Stanley Cup Playoff contests.

Read was signed by the Wild as a free agent on July 30, 2018 and wears sweater No. 10 with Minnesota.

Iowa takes on the Bakersfield Condors tonight as a part of the team's six-game road trip. Puck drop is at 9:00 p.m. CT.
