IOWA COMES FROM BEHIND, BEATS MILWAUKEE 2-1 IN SHOOTOUT

Game Report 

DES MOINES, Iowa – The Iowa Wild came from behind late in the third period and completed a weekend sweep of the Milwaukee Admirals with a 2-1 shootout victory at Casey’s Center on Saturday night. 

Iowa outshot Milwaukee 8-7 in a scoreless opening period. 

Jake Lucchini snapped a shot over the blocker of Cal Petersen (23 saves) 52 seconds into the middle frame to put Milwaukee up 1-0. 

The Wild outshot the Admirals 22-14 through 40 minutes. 

Ben Jones tied the game with Petersen pulled in favor of the extra attacker with 1:34 remaining. After Ben Gleason blasted a slap shot off Oskar Olausson at the top of the crease, Jones pounced on the loose puck and punched the rebound past Magnus Chrona (27 saves). 

Caedan Bankier and Dylan Gambrell scored in the shootout and Petersen stopped Oasiz Wiesblatt and Lucchini to earn Iowa the extra point. 

Iowa outshot Milwaukee 29-24. The Wild and Admirals both finished 0-for-4 on the power play. 

Iowa travels to BMO Center to visit the Rockford IceHogs on Friday, Feb. 6 at 7 p.m.
