IOWA WILD RECALLS FORWARD JAXON NELSON FROM HEARTLANDERS
Apr 4, 2026DES MOINES, Iowa – Iowa Wild General Manager Matt Hendricks today announced the American Hockey League (AHL) club has recalled forward Jaxon Nelson from the Iowa Heartlanders (ECHL).
Nelson, 26 (3/30/2000), has posted four points (2-2=4), two penalty minutes (PIM), and a minus-4 rating in 15 games with the Iowa Wild in 2025-26. Nelson has also recorded 37 points (18-19=37), 12 PIM, and a minus-9 rating through 43 games with the Iowa Heartlanders this season. Nelson skated in 42 games with the Providence Bruins in 2023-24 and 2024-25, where he registered 10 points (3-7=10), 10 PIM, and a minus-1 rating.
Prior to his professional career, Nelson recorded 89 points (42-47=89), 69 PIM, and a plus-22 rating across 169 games (2019-24) at the University of Minnesota and served as the team’s captain during the 2023-24 season. The 6-foot-4, 216-pound native of Magnolia, Minn., posted 75 points (34-41=75), 67 PIM, and a minus-18 rating across 164 USHL games with the Sioux Fall Stampede (2016-18) and Omaha Lancers (2018-19).
