Iowa won the last meeting, a 4-1 win at Milwaukee on Jan. 9. The next meeting is set for Feb. 21 in Milwaukee. The Iowa Wild were defeated by the Grand Rapids Griffins 4-3 in front of 7,482 fans on Saturday night at Wells Fargo Arena. Griffins defenseman Joel Chouinard scored with 2:59 remaining in the third period, pushing Grand Rapids past Iowa. Griffins goalie Jared Coreau made 28 saves on 31 shots in the victory. Defensemen Ryan Sproul as well as forwards Tyler Bertuzzi and Louis-Marc Aubry scored a goal each in the Griffins victory. Iowa goalie Steve Michalek made 34 saves on 38 shots in the defeat. Forwards Zack Mitchell, Kurtis Gabriel, and Grayson Downing scored a goal each in the Iowa loss.

Forwards Grayson Downing, Jordan Schroeder, Zack Mitchell and Christoph Bertschy lead Iowa in scoring. Downing has 30 points off 14 goals and 16 assists in 33 games played. Left Wing Kevin Fiala ranks third on the team in scoring with 24 points in 38 games.  Defensemen Trevor Murhpy and Taylron Aronson lead the Admirals blueliners in scoring 20 points. Right wing Adam Payerl rounds out the top scorers, posting eight goals and 13 assists in 44 games played.
