San Antonio Rampage (12-10-6-0, 30 Points) at Iowa Wild (5-21-2-3, 15 Points)

Iowa and San Antonio meet for the second of four meetings this season. The Rampage claimed the last meeting 3-2 at Wells Fargo Arena on Sunday. San Antonio won seven of the eight meetings in 2014-15. Iowa finished 1-5-1-1 against the Rampage last season and 1-2-1-0 at Wells Fargo Arena. The Wild is 6-7-1-1 in the all-time series, giving the Rampage a slight edge. San Antonio is 5-2-0-1 all-time in Des Moines. The Wild and Rampage complete the second of back-to-back games Monday and won’t meet again until April 8th when Iowa travels to San Antonio.

Iowa is 2-11-2-2 at home this season, having been outscored 58-35 by the visitors. Iowa is 2-6-1-1 over its last ten games. The Wild is winless in its last 11 games (0-9-1-1) at Wells Fargo Arena. The team record for games without a point stands at 14, set during the 2014-15 season. Iowa’s last home victory was a 3-2 overtime win against the Milwaukee Admirals on Oct. 31. Iowa is coming off a 3-2 loss at home to San Antonio on Thursday.

The Iowa Wild defeated by the San Antonio Rampage 3-2 Sunday afternoon in front of 4,787 fans at Wells Fargo Arena. Rampage defenseman Nikita Zadorov scored at 13:32 of the third period, pushing San Antonio past the Wild. Forward Christoph Bertschy tallied two assists, as Iowa saw its losing streak at home extended to 11 games. Iowa goalie Jeremy Smith made 28 saves on 31 shots in the loss. Forwards Colin Smith and Reid Petryk each added a goal for the Rampage. Rampage goalie Roman Will stopped 31 of 33 shots to snap the team’s seven-game losing streak. Forward Grayson Downing and defenseman Mike Reilly each scored a goal in the Iowa loss.

Forwards Christoph Bertschy and Michael Keranen have moved into a tie for the team lead in points. Keranen has five goals and 11 assists in 27 games played, tied for the lead in scoring with 16 points.  He has six assists in his last six games. With two assists last night, Bertschy leads the team with 12 assists and is tied for first with 16 points in 29 games played. Right wing Zack Mitchell leads Iowa in scoring with ten goals and is second with 15 points in 31 games played. Center Grayson Downing has 13 points in 14 games played.
