IOWA SIGNS RIOUX AND ANELOSKI

Iowa Continues Six-Game Homestand on Tuesday at 5:35 P.M.

Des Moines, IA – Iowa Wild General Manager Jim Mill announced on Tuesday the American Hockey League (AHL) club has signed defensemen Nicholas Rioux and Bryce Aneloski to professional tryout agreements (PTO).

Rioux returns from the team’s Central Hockey League (AHL) affiliate in Quad City. Over two different stints, the Quebec native has played in six games for the Wild, going scoreless with a +1 and two penalty minutes. Rioux is a third-year pro who spent training camp with Iowa before heading to Quad City. He’s made 55 appearances for the Mallards this season, scoring five goals and setting up 25 others for 30 points.

Aneloski is a rookie defenseman from the ECHL’s Orlando Solar Bears. In 56 games with the Bears, the 23-year old has nine goals and 27 points, to go along with a +17 rating. He made his AHL debut earlier this season, signing a PTO with Toronto. He was scoreless in his only appearance for the Marlies on Mar. 8, a 4-1 win at home over Lake Erie. The Pekin, IL native played three seasons at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. In 115 WCHA games, Aneloski scored 13 times and added 47 assists for 60 points. The 6-foot-2, 207-pounder, was drafted by Ottawa in the seventh round (#196 overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.

Iowa closes out its six-game stand with Charlotte on Tuesday at 5:35 P.M. and Wednesday at 7:05 P.M. The game is a $2 Tuesday, where fans can purchase any level ticket with a $2 discount. 200 Level seats will be available for $2 to the first 200 fans to purchase upper level seats. Patrons will also be able to purchase $2 sodas, $2 popcorns, and $2 10-ounce domestic drafts (21 and older) – through the first period of play. Also, select merchandise items will be available for only $2. Taco John’s will also provide a Taco coupon to every fan on their way into the game and if the team scores four goals each fan will receive an additional coupon upon exiting. The team continues a six-game homestand on Tuesday, Mar. 25 at 5:35 p.m. against the Charlotte Checkers. The Wild also closes out its six-game stand with the Checkers on Wednesday at 7:05 P.M. On Wednesday, fans that bring a Subway receipt to the Wells Fargo Arena box office may purchase a ticket for $5.
