Nov 30, 2015Iowa Receives High-Scoring Forward From NHL Club
DES MOINES, IA – Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher on Monday announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled defenseman Christian Folin (pronounced FOE-lin) from the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL) and reassigned forward Jordan Schroeder (pronounced SCHRAY-durr) to Iowa.
Folin, 24 (2/9/91), has collected two assists and nine penalty minutes (PIM) in 14 games with Minnesota this season. He was assigned to Iowa on Nov. 28 and collected one goal and five shots on goal in two AHL games. The 6-foot-4, 219-pound native of Gothenburg, Sweden, owns 13 points (2-11=13), 22 PIM and a plus-7 rating in 55 career NHL contests with the Wild. He has tallied five points (3-2=5) in 15 career AHL contests with Iowa.
Schroeder, 25 (9/29/90), has tallied one goal and 11 shots on goal in 11 games with Minnesota this season and five points (2-3=5) in eight contests with Iowa. The 5-foot-9, 184-pound native of Lakeville, Minn., has notched 24 points (10-14=24) and a plus-1 rating in 92 career NHL contests with Vancouver and Minnesota. Over the course of the last two seasons, Schroeder has played in 43 games for Iowa, scoring 12 goals and posting 33 points.
The Iowa Wild continues a six-game road trip on Thursday in Cleveland, playing twice at Lake Erie before returning home on Tuesday, Dec. 8 for a game against the Chicago Wolves. Kids (12 and under) eat free on Tuesday with a “Crash’s Kids Meal” courtesy of 96.5 Country of iHeartMedia Des Moines. The meal includes one hot dog, one soda, one popcorn, one fruit snack, and one Iowa Wild prize. The Wells Fargo Arena box office is open Monday – Friday from 10:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. and closed on Sunday. The Iowa Wild 2015-16 season is presented by Mercy Medical Center, it runs from October through April. Fans may purchase seats to see any of the team’s 38 regular season home games at Wells Fargo Arena.
