A slow burn turned into a raging fire as the Wild once again routed the Admirals on home ice, taking a 2-0 lead in the Central Division Semifinals. Luke Kunin scored late in the first period to give the Wild a 1-0 lead, but then Milwaukee’s Justin Kirkland evened it up at 1-1 just seconds later. Matt Read added another goal for the Wild in the second, and the team held a tight 2-1 lead heading into the third period. However, in the final frame, Iowa turned it on to the tune of four goals, coming from Kunin again, Mason Shaw, Gerry Mayhew and Mike Liambas. Following the game, the Wild took its 2-0 lead north as the series shifted to Milwaukee.
