DES MOINES, IA – Forward Jordan Schroeder (Lakeville, Minn./Minnesota Wild/Univ. of Minnesota) has been added to the 2016 U.S. Men's National Team that will compete at the International Ice Hockey Federation Men's World Championship May 6-22 in Moscow and St. Petersburg, Russia.

This is the sixth time Schroeder will be representing the United States in IIHF competition. A three-time U.S. National Junior Team member (2008-10), Schroeder ranks first in U.S. history with 27 career points and 20 assists in World Junior Championship play. His 20 assists also rank fourth all-time in the tournament. He also skated on two U.S. Men's National Under-18 Teams, tallying 16 points (7-9) in 14 games while helping the 2007 squad to a silver medal and the 2008 team to a bronze.

In six seasons of professional hockey, Schroeder has spent time with the NHL's Minnesota Wild and Vancouver Canucks and the AHL's Chicago Wolves, Iowa Wild, Manitoba Moose and Utica Comets. In 107 NHL regular-season games, Schroeder has tallied 11 goals and 16 assists for 27 points. Over the course of the last two years, Schroeder has played in 75 games for Iowa, scoring 24 goals and adding 38 assists for 64 points.  Schroeder ranks tied for third on the Iowa’s all-time goal scoring list and fourth overall in all-time points.  

Iowa's Christoph Bertschy is also competing in the tournament as a member of Team Swiss. 

Prior to making his professional debut in 2010, Schroeder spent two seasons (2008-10) with the University of Minnesota Gophers after skating with USA Hockey's National Team Development Program from 2006-08. The 2008-09 WCHA Rookie of the Year, Schroeder netted 72 goals and collected 51 assists for 73 points in 72 games for the Gophers.

Of the current 21 players on the U.S. Men's National Team roster, 13 are alumni of the United States Hockey League, the only Tier I junior league in the United States; six spent time in the North American Hockey League, the only Tier II junior league in the U.S.; 17 have competed at the NCAA Division I level; and 13 played for USA Hockey's National Team Development Program ... The staff and players of the 2016 U.S. Men's National Team are selected by the U.S. Men's National Team Advisory Group, led by Jim Johannson, assistant executive director of hockey operations for USA Hockey. Other members include Stan Bowman (Chicago Blackhawks), Dean Lombardi (Los Angeles Kings), David Poile (Nashville Predators), Ray Shero (New Jersey Devils), DaleTallon (Florida Panthers) and Don Waddell (Carolina Hurricanes). In addition, Chris Drury (New York Rangers) will serve as a member of the management group for the 2016 U.S. Men's National Team ... Teams will play a round-robin format within their group and the top four teams from each group will advance to the quarterfinals. The U.S. will play its seven preliminary round games in St. Petersburg at Yubileiny Arena … USA Hockey's international council, chaired by Gavin Regan (Potsdam, N.Y.), has oversight responsibilities for all U.S. national teams.

The 2016-17 regular season schedule will be announced late in the summer and single game tickets for the 2016-17 regular season will go on sale in September. The Iowa Wild 2016-17 season is presented by Mercy Medical Center, it runs from October through April. Season tickets to see the Wild play its 2016-17 season at Wells Fargo Arena start at just $9 per game. The Wells Fargo Arena box office is open Monday – Friday from 10:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. and closed on Sunday.
