Rookie Goalie Becomes First Player In Team History to Get the Call
Des Moines, IA – Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher on Friday announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled goaltender Johan Gustafsson (pronounced JOE-hahn GUHS-tahf-suhn) from the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Gustafsson, 21 (2/28/92), has not appeared in a preseason game for Minnesota this season. He went 20-13-0 with a 1.70 GAA and a .929 save percentage in 33 games for Lulea HF in Sweden’s Elite League last season. Gustafsson was selected by the Wild in the sixth-round (159 overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. He wears sweater No. 31 with Minnesota.
Iowa will play a preseason game Friday evening, visiting the Chicago Wolves at 7 p.m. in Franklin Park, IL.
Fans will get their first look at the Iowa Wild on Wednesday, October 2nd at 7:00 p.m. at Wells Fargo Arena for the Green-White Scrimmage. The event is open to the public. Admission is free with the donation of a non-perishable food item (one per person). All donations will go to movethefood.org. Seating will be on a first come, first-served basis.

The Iowa Wild begins its Inaugural season, presented by Mercy Medical Center, in October of 2013. Season tickets to see the Wild play at Wells Fargo Arena start at just $9 per game.
