IOWA WILD ANNOUNCE BROADCAST AGREEMENT ON 1460 KXNO

Wild Sign Two-Year Agreement With Clear Channel

Des Moines, IA – The Iowa Wild, proud American Hockey League affiliate of the NHL's Minnesota Wild, announced on Thursday a two-year broadcast agreement with KXNO 1460 – a Clear Channel Station.

The two-year deal begins on Saturday, Oct. 12. when the Wild host the Oklahoma City Barons at 7:05 p.m. Fans will be able to catch a minimum of 60 regular season games on 1460 KXNO, Des Moines' Sports Station. Every game of the regular season and postseason will also be streamed live on iHeartRadio and AHL Live Radio. As part of the agreement, 1460 KXNO will also have Iowa Wild players and coaching staff on air for weekly interviews and features.

The KXNO partnership with the Iowa Wild allows us to use the many platforms of Clear Channel Media and Entertainment,” said Clear Channel Regional Market Manager Joel McCrea. “In addition to 1460 KXNO, the Wild will partner with all of our radio stations, including our iHeartRadio brand.  Hockey is a growing interest and we want to be part of building the Wild franchise in Des Moines.”

Joe O'Donnell will call the Iowa Wild's Inaugural season, he enters his sixth season in the Minnesota Wild organization as Director of Broadcasting and Corporate Partnerships for the NHL club's AHL affiliate. He spent the last five years in Houston as Voice of the Aeros. In all, the 33-year old begins his ninth season of professional hockey play-by-play. The Havertown, PA native has called the AHL's 2011 Calder Cup Finals, as well as the ECHL's 2007 All-Star Game and 2007 Kelly Cup Finals. O'Donnell was named the ECHL's National Conference Broadcaster of the Year in 2007.

The Iowa Wild begins its Inaugural season, presented by Mercy Medical Center, in October of 2013. Season tickets to see the Wild play at Wells Fargo Arena start at just $9 per game.
