The Iowa forward took the pass and beat Muse on the short side with a slapshot from the right circle. Stars forward Devin Shore scored his eighth goal of the season at 8:28 to reclaim a 2-1 Texas lead. Shore went crashing to the net on a 2-on-1 and tapped in a back door pass from right winger Matej Stransky.

Stars forward Remi Elie provided an insurance goal for the Stars at 6:38 of the third period. Elie beat Smith with a shot from the high slot after a series of tic-tac-toe passes from Morin and defenseman Mattias Backman.
