Iowa Wild (15-12-6-3; 39 pts.) vs. Cleveland Monsters (10-16-3-3; 26 pts.)

Iowa Wild wraps up its three-games-in-three-days stretch when the team welcomes Cleveland Monsters to Wells Fargo Arena for the third time this season. In the two previous meetings in Iowa in early November, the Wild won 6-1 and 3-2 in the shootout. This will be the fifth meeting of the season between the two clubs, as the Wild won 3-0 and lost 5-4 in overtime in early December in Cleveland.

Last Game

The Wild fell to Manitoba Moose 4-3 Saturday night at Wells Fargo Arena. The Moose scored three unanswered goals through the game’s first 28 minutes before Wild forward Justin Kloos opened the scoring for Iowa at 8:41 in the second. Manitoba scored its fourth goal of the game late in the second, but Wild forward Kyle Rau made it 4-2 with 45 seconds left in the frame on the power-play tally.  Wild forward Gerry Mayhew cut Manitoba’s lead to 4-3 with a nifty between-the-legs goal at 9:40 in the third period, but Iowa couldn’t find the equalizer.

WILD Notables

• Defenseman Zach Palmquist recorded his first career three-assist night against Manitoba and has five assists in his last three games.
• Winger Sam Anas recorded his team-leading eighth multi-point night against Manitoba with two assists.
• Anas has five points (2g, 3a) in four games against Cleveland this season.
• Iowa’s 3-0-1-0 record against Cleveland is the best versus any single opponent this season.

CLEVELAND Notables

• Cleveland lost to Rockford IceHogs 4-3 in the shootout Saturday night.
• Columbus Blue Jackets recalled Zac Dalpe, Joonas Korpisalo and Dean Kukan from the Monsters on Jan. 7, reassigning Matiss Kivlenieks in the same transaction.
• Forward Carter Camper paces the Monsters with 21 points (7g, 14a).
• Cleveland’s game against Iowa is the fourth of a seven-game road trip, the team’s longest of the season.
