IOWA WILD SIGNS DEFENSEMAN MARK AUK TO ATO

DES MOINES, IOWA – Iowa Wild General Manager Brent Flahr announced today the American Hockey League (AHL) club has signed Michigan Tech defenseman Mark Auk to an Amateur Tryout Agreement (ATO).

Auk, 23 (2/18/1995), led all Huskie defenseman in points with 31 (9g, 22a) in 44 games this season. His 31 points, nine goals and 22 assists were all career highs. During his four years with Michigan Tech, Auk recorded 84 points (21g, 63a) in 150 career games, while also winning two conference championships and playing in three NCAA Frozen Four tournaments.

Prior to his time at Michigan Tech, Auk played two seasons with Cedar Rapids of the USHL. The 6-foot, 190-pound native of St. Clair Shores, Mich., spent two seasons with the Roughriders, amassing 39 points (11g, 28a) in 93 games. He also spent part of a season with the Port Huron Fighting Falcons of the NAHL, registering 12 points (3g, 9a) in 27 games.

Iowa battles the Tucson Roadrunners Friday at Wells Fargo Arena. Puck drop is at 7:00 p.m.
