IOWA WILD WINS TWO AWARDS AT 2018 AHL TEAM BUSINESS MEETINGS
Jun 21, 2018DES MOINES, IOWA – Iowa Wild won two awards at the 2018 AHL Team Business Meetings presented by ExteNet Systems at the Hilton Des Moines Downtown.
The Wild was presented with the AHL Corporate Promotion of the Year Award for the organizations inaugural Hockey Days Iowa Event. Hockey Days Iowa saw more than 40 teams from around the Midwest, with more than 300 players attending the historic event. The two-day, 3-on-3 hockey tournament, presented by Iowa Corn, was the largest outdoor hockey event in Iowa history.
“Hockey Days Iowa was a tremendous success for our organization,” said Todd Frederickson, President of Iowa Wild. “Every single person contributed to the implementation of this hockey tournament, and the result is a lynchpin event for the community. We’re incredibly honored to receive this award and look forward to continuing to grow Hockey Days Iowa in the years to come.”
Along with winning the Corporate Promotion of the Year, Iowa Wild was recognized as the Top Corporate Sales and Service team. 2018 marked the third consecutive year Iowa Wild has been recognized as the best corporate sales and service department in the AHL.
The Iowa Wild 2018-19 season is presented by Mercy Medical Center and runs from October through April. Minnesota Wild and St. Louis Blues will compete in an NHL preseason game at Wells Fargo Arena on Wednesday, September 19. Iowa Wild opening night will take place on October 5.
