MINNESOTA WILD ASSIGNS FORWARD ZACH PARISE TO IOWA ON A CONDITIONING ASSIGNMENT

    DES MOINES, Iowa  – Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has assigned forward Zach Parise (pronounced pah-REE-see) to the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL) on a conditioning assignment.

    Parise, 33 (7/28/84), underwent microdiscectomy surgery on Oct. 24 and has not appeared in a game for Minnesota this season. He tallied 42 points (19g, 23a) including six power-play goals and four game-winning tallies in 69 games with Minnesota last season and added three points (2g, 1a) in five Stanley Cup playoff matches. The 5-foot-11, 195-pound native of Minneapolis, Minn., owns 661 points (318g, 343a) in 830 career NHL contests with New Jersey and Minnesota.

    Iowa returns from the holiday break with a game against Rockford IceHogs on Thursday, Dec. 28, with puck drop at 7:00 p.m. CT.
