MINNESOTA WILD REASSIGNS ZACK MITCHELL TO IOWA

DES MOINES, IOWA – Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has reassigned forward Zack Mitchell to Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Mitchell, 25 (1/7/93), has tallied 29 points (14g, 15a), including four power-play goals and two game-winning tallies in 33 games with Iowa this season. His 22.6 shooting percentage is the highest among all Wild players with more than 10 shots on goal.

Mitchell has collected five points (3g, 2a) including one game-winning goal in 23 games with Minnesota this season. He tallied his first career NHL point with an assist vs. Columbus on Oct. 14 and his first NHL goal against the New York Islanders on Oct. 26. The 6-foot-1, 196-pound native of Orangeville, Ont., owns five points in 34 career NHL games with Minnesota. He was signed by the Wild as a free agent on March 4, 2014. 

Iowa faces off against the Pacific Division-leading Tucson Roadrunners Friday at Wells Fargo Arena. Puck drop is at 7:00 p.m.
