Iowa Adds Defenseman Dylan Labbe From Quad CityMar 7, 2017
DES MOINES, IA – Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher announced on Tuesday the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled defenseman Gustav Olofsson from the Iowa Wild, Minnesota’s American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate. In addition, Iowa Wild General Manager Brent Flahr announced defenseman Dylan Labbe has been recalled from the Quad City Mallards, Iowa’s ECHL affiliate.
Olofsson, 22 (12/1/94), has recorded 22 points (5-17=22) in 48 games with Iowa this season. He ranks T-2nd on the team in assists and leads team defensemen and ranks T-4th on Iowa in scoring. The 6-foot-3, 195-pound native of Boras, Sweden, has registered two assists and 13 blocked shots in eight games with Minnesota this season, including his first career NHL points with two assists on Feb. 12 vs. Detroit. Olofsson owns two assists in 10 career NHL games with Minnesota and has collected 40 points (8-32=40) in 109 career AHL games. He was selected by the Wild in the second round (46th overall) of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.
Labbe, 22 (1/9/95), returns from Quad City, where he played in 15 games this season with three goals and six points. The St. Benjamin, PQ native has totaled 11 games with Iowa this season, setting up two goals. For his AHL career, Labbe has played in 79 games, scoring five goals and adding six assists for ten points. The St. Benjamin, PQ native played his junior hockey in the QMJHL from 2011-14. In 193 games, Labbe scored 31 times and totaled 106 points for his junior career. Labbe was drafted by Minnesota in the fourth round of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft (#107 overall).
After a six-game road trip with stops in Chicago, Rockford, Texas and Milwaukee, Iowa returns home to play the Milwaukee Admirals on Saturday, Mar. 18 at 6 PM at Wells Fargo Arena. The St. Patrick’s Day game features a postgame concert with Gaelic Storm, sponsored by 100.3 The Bus, Jim Beam and My Satellite Guy. VIP packages are available starting at $20. The first 1,500 fans to the game receive an Iowa Wild Irish themed hat, sponsored by 95 KGGO and LIUNA. The Wild will also don St. Patrick’s Day themed specialty jerseys for the game. The team wears the specialty jerseys for all three home games in March, culminating with a live postgame jersey auction on Saturday, Mar. 31.
