2017 – Kloos learning life as a pro
Feature writer Tom Witosky sat down with rookie Justin Kloos to talk about how his life changed following the Golden Gophers’ run to the Frozen Four. Kloos met with 10 NHL teams before finally signing with the Minnesota organization and was immediately dropped into an Iowa Wild team that was pushing for the club’s first-ever Calder Cup playoff appearance. 2015 – Iowa Wild (4) vs. Texas Stars (6)
Iowa and Texas battled at Wells Fargo Arena, with Texas ultimately pulling out the 6-4 victory. Texas jumped out to a 2-0 lead, but Jonathon Blum cut it to 2-1. Texas made it 3-1 early in the second, but Brett Sutter and Stephane Veilleux made it 3-3 midway through the second. Another two goals gave Texas a 5-3 lead and then Iowa pulled within one with a Jared Knight tally early in the third. But Texas sealed the win with an empty-net goal for the victory.
