Iowa Back Home This Sunday To Host Milwaukee at 5 PM

MILWAUKEE, WI– The Iowa Wild (21-34-3-4, 49 points) were defeated by the Milwaukee Admirals (37-20-3-0, 77 points) 4-2 in front of 5,668 fans at the BMO Harris Bradley Center on Friday night. With all the scoring in the first period, Iowa jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead before Milwaukee closed out the period with four unanswered. Iowa forwards Rob Bordson and Colton Beck each scored, as the loss ended Iowa’s season high three-game winning streak. Iowa goalie Leland Irving (10-18-4) finished with 25 saves as his club fell to 3-4-0-0 at the end of its seven-game road trip. Admirals Max Gortz, Adam Payerl, Cody Bass and Kevin Fiala each scored in the win. Milwaukee goalie Jusse Saros (21-6-0) made 23 saves on 25 shots. Iowa returns home to host Milwaukee at 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Iowa was off to a quick start in the opening period, with Colton Beck scoring at 3:04 of the first period for the 1-0 lead. Left wing Scott Sabourin found Beck in the slot, he fired a shoot and put in his own rebound past Jusse Saros for his fourth goal of the season. The Wild struck again at 4:04 of the first period, taking a 2-0 lead. Left wing Brett Bulmer set up Rob Bordson for his eighth goal of the season. The Admirals roared back with four unanswered goals to close the period. Max Gortz jammed in a rebound at 4:44 to start the rally. His 13th goal of the year was assisted by Taylor Aronson and Matt White, trimming Iowa’s lead to 2-1. Milwaukee’s Adam Payerl potted an unassisted shorthanded goal at 9:58, tying the game 2-2 with his 10th goal of the year. Admirals forward Cody Bass scored his third goal of the year from Aronson and Joe Pendenza at 14:39, giving Milwaukee its first lead of the year at 3-2. Left wing Kevin Fiala chased down a loose puck and beat Leland Irving on a breakaway at 19:07 of the first period for the 4-2 lead. Forward Vladislav Kamenev picked up the lone assist on Fiala’s 13th goal of the year.

The Wild returns home on Sunday to host the Milwaukee Admirals at 5 p.m. The Subway/Star 102.5 Combo Pack is available for purchase starting at $12. The Wells Fargo Arena box office is open Monday – Friday from 10:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. and closed on Sunday. The Iowa Wild 2015-16 season is presented by Mercy Medical Center, it runs from October through April.
