WILD RAISES OVER $200,000 FOR CENTRAL IOWA IN 2015-16

DES MOINES, IA – The Iowa Wild proudly announced on Wednesday that over the course of the 2015-16 season the team helped raise over $200,000 for local non-profit charities.

In addition, the Iowa Wild had a presence (players, Crash, staff members) at over 200 community events and donated nearly $40,000 worth of tickets and autographed memorabilia for local charities. The biggest fundraisers of the season were aided by the team’s strong partnerships with the ALS Association - Iowa Chapter, Susan G. Komen of Iowa and the American Heart Association. The Wild hosted an awareness night for each of the partners during the season, highlighted by game-worn specialty jersey auctions. Over the course of the AHL team’s three-year existence in Des Moines, the Iowa Wild has partnered with countless local businesses to help raise nearly $500,000 for local non-profits.

The Wild continues to build successful school programs such Hy-Vee’s Wild About Reading program and the Atlantic Bottling Co. (Coca-Cola) / Country Financial Healthy Living Floor Hockey program. In all, nearly 26,000 students participated in the Wild About Reading program in 2015–16. The Healthy Living Floor Hockey Program included 52,000 students in 120 schools throughout Central Iowa. The club also celebrated its second School Day game with Wild About Education in November of 2015, featuring educational programming to teach young students about the game of hockey. It was a huge success with over 11,000 students on hand for the game.
The Wild is also deeply entrenched with youth hockey in Central Iowa, partnering with the Des Moines Youth Hockey Association. The team continues to partner with the Gabe Fleming Memorial Hockey Scholarship Fund, which raises money to award scholarships for young athletes in Des Moines. This year, the Wild helped the Gabe Fleming Memorial Hockey Scholarship Fund raise over $7,000 in 2015-16.

The 2016-17 regular season schedule will be announced late in the summer and single game tickets for the 2016-17 regular season will go on sale in September. The Iowa Wild 2016-17 season is presented by Mercy Medical Center, it runs from October through April. Fans may purchase seats to see any of the team’s 38 regular season home games at Wells Fargo Arena. Season tickets to see the Wild play its 2016-17 season at Wells Fargo Arena start at just $9 per game. The Wells Fargo Arena box office is open Monday – Friday from 10:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. and closed on Sunday. For Saturday game days, the box office will open at 10 a.m. For Sunday game days the box office will open at 12 p.m. Fans may also purchase tickets by calling 1-844-55-HYVEE or by visiting participating Hy-Vee food stores locations in the greater Des Moines area.
