MINNESOTA WILD SIGNS CENTER PAT CANNONE

SAINT PAUL, Minn. - Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher on Friday announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has signed free-agent forward Pat Cannone to a one-year, two-way contract ($600,000/$250,000).

Cannone, 29 (8/9/86), tallied 52 points (20-32=52) and 38 penalty minutes (PIM) in 73 games with the Chicago Wolves in the American Hockey League (AHL) last season. The Wolves captain led the team in scoring and assists and ranked second in goals. Cannone was named the 2016 AHL All-Star Game MVP after scoring three goals to help lead the Central Division to victory. The 5-foot-11, 190-pound native of Bayport, N.Y., owns 203 points (80-123=203), 147 penalty minutes (PIM) and a plus-54 rating in 349 career AHL games with Chicago and Binghamton.

The sixth-year pro won a Calder Cup with Binghamton in 2012. Over the three years he played in Chicago, Cannone faced the Iowa Wild 25 times, amassing 11 goals and 21 points, as well as a plus-15 rating. On Jan, 26, he potted a hat trick at Wells Fargo Arena, netting the game-winning goal in overtime for the visitors in a 4-3 decision.

Cannone played four seasons at Miami University (2007-11) and recorded 133 points (45-88=133) and 83 PIM in 166 games. He did not miss a game his entire collegiate career and served as co-captain his senior season. The RedHawks won the 2010-11 CCHA Championship and claimed the 2009-10 regular-season title.

The 2016-17 regular season schedule will be announced late in the summer and single game tickets for the 2016-17 regular season will go on sale in September. The Iowa Wild 2016-17 season is presented by Mercy Medical Center, it runs from October through April. Fans may purchase seats to see any of the team’s 38 regular season home games at Wells Fargo Arena. Season tickets to see the Wild play its 2016-17 season at Wells Fargo Arena start at just $9 per game. Fans may purchase single-game tickets multiple ways, either through the team's website – www.Iowawild.com, the Wells Fargo Arena box office or participating Hy-Vee food stores. The Wells Fargo Arena box office is open Monday – Friday from 10:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. and closed on Sunday. For Saturday game days, the box office will open at 10 a.m. For Sunday game days the box office will open at 12 p.m. Fans may also purchase tickets by calling 1-844-55-HYVEE or by visiting participating Hy-Vee food stores locations in the greater Des Moines area.
