In a continued effort to grow the central Iowa community, the Iowa Wild and Minnesota Wild Foundation have selected three local organizations to donate a total of $25,000. As part of a longstanding partnership between Mercy Medical and the Iowa Wild, a donation of $10,000 was made to the Mercy Children’s Hospital. Included in the donation: an air hockey table and 22 XBOX consoles for in-room pediatric patient use. The Iowa Wild players and team mascot Crash make regular visits to the pediatric unit in Des Moines.

In addition, $10,000 has been donated to the Des Moines Youth Hockey Association. The funds will be used to help grow the game, supply equipment and boost the girls hockey program. Finally, the team also set aside $5,000 for the American Heart Association – the Wild and AHA have a longstanding relationship in central Iowa. In over three years of partnering, the Wild has helped AHA raise over $50,000.
