OVER 8,000 SEE GOALIES SHINE AS MILWAUKEE EDGES IOWA 1-0

Iowa Welcomes Grand Rapids and Abbotsford Next Weekend

Des Moines, IA – The Iowa Wild (6-8-0-0, 12 points) were defeated by the Milwaukee Admirals (8-3-2-1, 19 Points) 1-0 in front of 8,111 fans at the Wells Fargo Arena on Saturday night. Milwaukee goalie Scott Darling (1-0-0) stopped all 32 Iowa shots to earn his first career AHL shutout. Forward Colton Sissons scored the game’s only goal at 17:39 of the first period and Darling handled the rest. Iowa Wild goalie Darcy Kuemper (3-7-0) stopped 32 of 33 Milwaukee shots in the loss. The Wild continues a six-game homestand with Grand Rapids on Friday at 7:05 P.M.

The Admirals opened the scoring at 17:39 of the first period with a goal by center Colton Sissons. Admiral defenseman Joonas Jarviven fired a shot from the left-wing blueline towards the Wild net. Sissons tipped the shot past Darcy Kuemper to give the Admirals a 1-0 lead. The goal marked Sissons’ seventh goal of the season.

The Wild continues a six-game homestand with Grand Rapids on Friday, Nov. 22 at 7:05 p.m. Fans may donate a non-perishable food item to receive a free ticket to an upcoming game, presented by Zerorez. The proceeds will be donated to movethefood.org. Also, as part of the Great American Smokeout, fans who quit smoking and turn in a tobacco product at the Central Iowa Tobacco Free Partnership table will receive a free ticket to an upcoming game. The Wild concludes its homestand with Abbotsford on Nov. 23 at 7:05 p.m. and Nov. 24 at 5:05 p.m. Saturday night is Veterans Appreciation Night and there is a Helmets to Hardhats Auction. Fans may participate in a live postgame auction of game-worn player helmets, benefitting Helmets to Hardhats. Sunday night, fans may purchase the Subway Family Four Pack for the game, which features four tickets, four hot dogs, four sodas and Subway coupons starting at $44.
