Iowa and San Antonio rematch on Saturday at 7 P.M.

DES MOINES, IA – The Iowa Wild (10-13-1-1, 22 points) were defeated by the San Antonio Rampage (11-11-1-0, 23 points) 1-0 in front of 5,777 fans on Friday night at Wells Fargo Arena. Rampage goalie Spencer Martin (11-6-0) stopped 27 shots for the shutout win. San Antonio center Rocco Grimaldi scored the only goal of the night. Wild goalie Steve Michalek (4-6-1) stopped 21 of 22 shots in the loss. Iowa and San Antonio rematch on Saturday, Dec. 10 in Des Moines.

After a scoreless first period, center Rocco Grimaldi scored for the Rampage at 4:53 of the second period. The unassisted goal gave San Antonio a 1-0 lead. An Iowa skater tried sending the puck in front of the Wild’s net and Grimaldi tipped it in for his seventh goal of the season.

Iowa wraps up the three-game home stand on Saturday at 7 PM with the Rampage at Wells Fargo Arena. Saturday is Star Wars Night, where fans receive an Iowa Wild/Star Wars themed poster (while supplies last). Star Wars Night, sponsored by Universal Printing and NASH Icon, features Star Wars characters on the concourse to help promote the release of the newest movie in the series, Rogue One, which opens Dec. 16. Fans may also enjoy Jim Beam drink specials throughout the evening, with $5 Beam Apple Orchards or $10 Beam Apple Orchard in a mason jar. The Jim Beam specials are presented by Nash FM.

Iowa returns home for a two-game visit from the Manitoba Moose on Sunday, Dec. 18 at 3 PM. Skaters dress up as Santa Claus for the game, The game is a Toys for Tots night. Fans may donate a toy and receive a ticket voucher for a future Iowa Wild game. All donations benefit Toys for Tots, sponsored by Complete Nutrition and KCCI. The Subway Combo Pack is available for purchase at the game. There is also a Postgame Skate for fans at the conclusion of the game. Rental skates are available for $2 and all proceeds benefit the American Diabetes Association.

The Iowa Wild 2016-17 season is presented by Mercy Medical Center: and runs from October through April. The Wells Fargo Arena box office is open Monday – Friday from 10:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. and closed on Sunday. For Saturday game days, the box office will open at 10 a.m. For Sunday game days the box office will open at 12 p.m. Fans may also purchase tickets by calling 1-844-55-HYVEE or by visiting participating Hy-Vee food stores locations in the greater Des Moines area.
