Center Goes to NHL, Forward Added from ECHL
DES MOINES, IA – Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher announced on Tuesday that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled center Tyler Graovac from Iowa, Minnesota’s American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate. In addition, Iowa Wild General Manager Brent Flahr announced that center Tyler Sikura (Suh-cure-ah) has been signed to a professional tryout agreement (PTO).
Graovac, 23 (4/27/93), has registered eight points (7-1=8) and a plus-6 rating in 49 games with Minnesota this season. He has also notched 10 points (7-3=10), including four power-play goals in 12 games with Iowa this season. The 6-foot-5, 212-pound native of Brampton, Ont., owns eight points (7-1=8) in 54 career NHL contests with Minnesota and has tallied 97 points (46-51=97) in 188 AHL games with Iowa. Graovac was selected by the Wild in the seventh round (191st overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft in Saint Paul.
Sikura, 24 (5/18/92), is in his second pro season and joins Iowa for the third time this season. Sikura is scoreless in 13 games for Iowa this season. He has spent the majority of this season with the Toledo Walleye of the ECHL. The 6-2, 195-pound forward has played in 39 games for Toledo this season, scoring 13 goals and adding 16 assists for 29 points. He has also gone scoreless in three games for the ECHL’s Manchester Monarchs. Over the past two seasons, Sikura has played in 107 ECHL games for Toledo, scoring 29 times and totaling 77 points. The Aurora, ON native has also made a combined 19 appearances in the AHL for Iowa, Springfield and Portland. He is still looking for his first career AHL point. Sikura spent 2011-15 at Dartmouth College. He played in 125 ECAC games for the Big Green, scoring 36 times and totaled 92 points.
Iowa concludes a six-game road trip with a final stop on Friday in Milwaukee at 7 pm with the Admirals. Iowa returns home to play the Milwaukee Admirals on Saturday, Mar. 18 at 6 PM at Wells Fargo Arena. The St. Patrick’s Day game features a postgame concert with Gaelic Storm, sponsored by 100.3 The Bus, Jim Beam and My Satellite Guy. VIP packages are available starting at $20. The first 1,500 fans to the game receive an Iowa Wild Irish themed hat, sponsored by 95 KGGO and LIUNA. In a partnership with Jim Beam and NASH FM, fans 21 and older are able to purchase the “The Big Ginger” drink special. It is also Jim Beam Night. Subway Combo Packs are available for purchase at the game. Brewdog packs are also available for purchase at the game, presented by Legends American Grill and Bud Light. The Wild will also don St. Patrick’s Day themed specialty jerseys for the game. The team wears the specialty jerseys for all three home games in March, culminating with a live postgame jersey auction on Saturday, Mar. 31.
