IOWA WILD ANNOUNCES 2013-14 PROMOTIONAL SCHEDULE
$2.00 Beers, Giveaways and the Subway Family Four Pack Highlight Fun-Filled Schedule
Des Moines, IA – The Iowa Wild, proud American Hockey League affiliate of the NHL's Minnesota Wild, announced on Thursday the Inaugural Season Promotions Schedule.
The Iowa Wild play its first game in team history on Saturday, Oct. 12 at 7:05 p.m. against the Oklahoma City Barons at Wells Fargo Arena. As part of Opening Weekend, the team will partner with the ALS Association to fight Lou Gehrig's Disease. The Wild players will wear an Inaugural Season patch on their jerseys, which will be auctioned off to benefit the ALSA. The first 5,000 fans to Opening Night receive an Inaugural season rally towel, compliments of KISS FM and KXNO. The first 5,000 fans will also receive an Iowa Wild 2013-14 season magnetic schedule. The Wild continue Opening Weekend with Kids Opening Night on Sunday, Oct. 13 at 4:05 p.m. with Oklahoma City. The first 5,000 fans receive Iowa Wild Thundersticks and magnetic schedules. The team will also stick around after the game for a full team autograph session on the ice at Wells Fargo Arena.
Oct. 13 is the first Sunday of the season and also the first day fans may purchase the Subway Family Four Pack, which consists of: four tickets, four hats, popcorn, four hot dogs and four sodas for $44. The Subway Family Four Pack will be available for every Sunday home game and four additional home dates. On Sunday, Oct. 27, fans are encouraged to wear Halloween Costumes and stick around for a postgame skate.
The first Friday game of the year falls on Nov. 1 and it marks the first of nine $2.00 Beer Nights throughout the season. Every Friday night during the season, fans (21 and over) will be able to purchase $2.00 ten-ounce beers.
The giveaways continue on Saturday, Nov. 2, where the first 2,500 fans to the game receive an Iowa Wild T-Shirt, compliments of NASH 97.3 FM. On Saturday, Nov. 16, the Wild celebrates Youth Sports of Iowa Night. The first 1,500 youths (12 and under) will receive an Iowa Wild Youth Jersey. The Wild will host Kids Winterfest on Saturday, Jan. 18, with the first 5,000 fans receiving Thundersticks.
Iowa will hold its first annual Teddy Bear Toss on Sunday, Dec. 16 when they host the Rockford IceHogs at 4:05 p.m. When the Wild score its first goal of the night, fans will be permitted to toss a stuffed animal onto the ice for charity.
The Wild will hold Military Appreciation Night on Friday, Jan. 31 with a 7:05 p.m. faceoff against the Milwaukee Admirals. The first 2,500 fans to Wells Fargo Arena that evening will receive an Iowa Wild camouflage hat. Fans will also be permitted to stick around after and participate in a postgame skate. The Wild celebrates “Pink in the Rink Night” on Saturday, Feb. 15. The Wild will don Pink-in-the-Rink themed specialty jerseys, which will be auctioned off to raise money for Breast Cancer awareness. The first 5,000 fans to the game receive an Iowa Wild Pink LED light. On Sunday, Feb. 16, the Wild will “Go Green” for environmental awareness. The first 5,000 fans to the game will receive an Iowa Wild team poster, compliments of MidAmerican Energy.
On Sunday, Mar. 16, the Wild host Local Heroes Night, celebrating the services of Emergency First Responders throughout the region. The first 2,500 fans in attendance will receive an Iowa Wild bobblehead. Fans may also stick around for a postgame skate.
The Wild celebrates Fan Appreciation Weekend on Friday, Apr. 11 and Sunday, Apr. 13.
Fans will get their first look at the Iowa Wild on Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 7:00 p.m. at Wells Fargo Arena for the Green-White Scrimmage. The event is open to the public. Admission is free with the donation of a non-perishable food item (one per person). Seating will be on a first come, first-served basis.
Iowa Wild single game tickets go on sale to the general public on Tuesday, Sept 24. at 10:00 a.m. Fans may purchase single game tickets multiple ways, either through the team's website – www.Iowawild.com, Wells Fargo Arena box office or Dahl's Ticketing. Tickets are available online at www.iowawild.com under the single game tickets tab. Fans may also purchase tickets by calling 1-866-55-DAHLS (32457) or by visiting one of 13 Dahl's Food Stores locations in the greater Des Moines area, and in Ames. The Iowa Wild begins its Inaugural season, presented by Mercy Medical Center, in October of 2013. Season tickets to see the Wild play at Wells Fargo Arena start at just $9 per game.
