WILD FALLS TO RAMPAGE 3-0

Flames Come to Town This Sunday

DES MOINES, IA – The Iowa Wild (7-16-1-1, 16 points) were defeated by the San Antonio Rampage (15-8-2-0, 32 points) 3-0 in front of 6,521 fans on Friday at Wells Fargo Arena. San Antonio goalie Dan Ellis (10-5-1) made 20 saves in the road victory, recording his second shutout of the season. Despite saving 28 of 31 shots, Iowa goalie John Curry (3-6-1) picked up the loss. San Antonio forwards Connor Brickley, Mackenzie Weegar and Bobby Butler each netted a goal in the road win. Iowa continues its four-game home stand on Sunday at 3 p.m. against Adirondack.  

The Rampage opened the scoring midway through the first period with a goal from rookie forward Connor Brickley. Brickley tipped a shot past Iowa goalie John Curry at the 11:29 mark of the period, giving San Antonio a 1-0 lead. Forwards Drew Shore and Mark Mancari assisted Brickley on his eighth goal of the season.

San Antonio extended its lead 1:22 into the second period when rookie forward Mackenzie Weegar scored on a one-timer. Weegar’s first career goal was set up by rookie forward Rocco Grimaldi and gave the Rampage a 2-0 lead.

In the third period, forward Bobby Butler put the Rampage up by three with a goal at the 15:11 mark. Butler’s team leading 11th goal of the of the year was unassisted for the 3-0 final.

The Wild continues a four-game home stand, hosting Adirondack at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 14. After the game, the Wild will hold a postgame autograph session with the team. The game is also a Subway Family Four Pack night, where fans can purchase four tickets, four hot dogs and four sodas starting at $48. Iowa plays its fourth straight game at home on Tuesday, Dec. 16, welcoming the Rockford IceHogs at 7 p.m. The team celebrates Taco Tuesdays, presented by Taco Johns. Each fan that comes to the game will be handed a coupon for a complimentary crispy beef taco from Taco Johns. In addition, Taco Johns will select one lucky fan to receive a six-pack of tacos and a pound of potato oles. It’s also a two-for-one Tuesday, presented by Hits 99.9 FM, where fans may purchase one attack end ticket and get one free. The Wild are also hosting a “Toys for Tots” toy drive. Any fan that donates a toy will receive a ticket to a future Wild home game. Also, fans that bring a Subway receipt may purchase a ticket for $5.00 at the Wells Fargo Arena box office.

The Iowa Wild 2014-15 season is presented by Mercy Medical Center, it runs from October through April. Fans may purchase seats to see any of the team’s 38 regular season home games at Wells Fargo Arena. Season tickets to see the Wild play at Wells Fargo Arena start at just $9 per game.
