BINNINGTON STYMIES WILD, WOLVES CLINCH PLAYOFF SPOT WITH 1-0 WIN

Iowa Returns Home Tuesday For Regular Season Home Finale

ROSEMONT, IL – The Iowa Wild (23-46-2-2, 50 points) were defeated by the Chicago Wolves (39-27-6-1, 85 points) 1-0 in front of 6,416 fans on Sunday at Allstate Arena. Chicago goalie Jordan Binnington (24-14-4) stopped 16 Iowa shots for the shutout, helping his club clinch a berth in the Calder Cup playoffs. Wolves forward Pat Cannone picked up the game’s lone goal in the second period. Despite getting outshot 33-16 for the game, Iowa was always within striking distance due to 32 saves by goalie John Curry (13-21-2), who suffered the defeat. Iowa welcomes Toronto at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Apr. 14.

After a scoreless first period of play, Chicago claimed a 1-0 at 6:47 of the second period compliments of a Pat Cannone goal. Defenseman Mathieu Brodeur and forward Magnus Paajarvi each picked up an assist on Cannone’s 14th goal of the season. The Wolves forward squeezed a backhand shot past Wild goalie John Curry for the period’s only goal.

The Wild welcomes the Toronto Marlies for the final regular season home game at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Apr. 14 – celebrating Fan Appreciation Night. During the game, Iowa is giving away a multitude of coupons from corporate sponsors. It’s also a Taco Tuesday – presented by Taco Johns, where each fan that comes to the game receives a coupon for a free crispy beef taco from Taco Johns. It’s also two-for-one Tuesday, where fans may purchase one attack end ticket and receive a second ticket free, sponsored by Hits 99.9 FM. Also, those who bring in a Subway receipt may purchase a $5 game ticket at the box office.

The Iowa Wild 2014-15 season is presented by Mercy Medical Center, it runs from October through April. Fans may purchase seats to see any of the team’s 38 regular season home games at Wells Fargo Arena. Season tickets to see the Wild play its 2015-16 season at Wells Fargo Arena start at just $9 per game.
