Iowa Veteran Is Back in the Fold
DES MOINES, IA – Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher on Sunday announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has re-signed forward Brett Bulmer to a one-year, two-way contract.
Bulmer, 23 (4/26/92), recorded 16 points (4-12=16) and 50 penalty minutes (PIM) in 53 games with the Iowa Wild in the American Hockey League (AHL) last season. The 6-foot-4, 212-pound native of Prince George, B.C., has tallied three assists and eight penalty minutes in 14 career NHL contests with the Minnesota Wild.
Iowa fans are familiar with Bulmer, who scored the first goal in team history vs. Oklahoma City on Oct. 12, 2013. The winger ranks fifth on Iowa’s all-time games played list. Over the course of two seasons, Bulmer has played in 96 games with 15 goals and 20 assists for 35 points. He is sixth all-time in points and fourth in penalty minutes (129). Counting his time in Houston (AHL), he has 44 points (20-24=44) and 172 PIM in 145 career AHL games. Bulmer was selected by Minnesota in the second round (No. 39) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
Iowa begins its third season in the AHL this fall. The team will host Opening Night on Saturday, Oct. 10. In July of 2015, the AHL honored the Iowa Wild by naming it the Western Conference’s Best Fan Experience.
The Iowa Wild 2015-16 season is presented by Mercy Medical Center, it runs from October through April. Fans may purchase seats to see any of the team’s 38 regular season home games at Wells Fargo Arena. Season tickets to see the Wild play its 2015-16 season at Wells Fargo Arena start at just $9 per game.
