BERTSCHY GETS FIRST NHL RECALL

Eberle Summoned From Quad City to Iowa

DES MOINES, IA – Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher on Saturday announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled forward Christoph Bertschy (pronounced BAIRT-chee) from the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL). In addition, Iowa Wild General Manager Brent Flahr announced the AHL club has recalled forward Tanner Eberle from the Quad City Mallards, Iowa’s ECHL affiliate. 

Bertschy, 21 (4/5/94), has collected six points (2-4=6) including a power-play and shorthanded goal and eight penalty minutes (PIM) in 12 games with Iowa this season. The rookie ranks T-1st on the team in goals and scoring. Bertschy collected 30 points (14-16=30), a plus-14 rating and 26 PIM in 44 games with SC Bern in the Swiss League in 2014-15. The 5-foot-10, 189-pound native of Fribourg, Switzerland, ranked T-2nd on the team in goals, T-3rd in plus/minus and fifth in scoring. He added three points (1-2=3) in seven playoff games.

Bertschy was selected by Minnesota in the sixth round (158thoverall) of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. He has not appeared in an NHL contest and will wear sweater No. 47 with Minnesota.

Eberle, 21 (1/12/94), is in his first pro season after playing the last five seasons in the WHL with the Moose Jaw Warriors. He has appeared in three games for Iowa without registering a point. In six games with Quad City, Eberle has three goals and six points. Last season, the 5-11, 190-pounder played in 63 games, scoring 33 goals and adding 23 assists for 56 points, to go along with 99 penalty minutes. For his WHL career, the Regina, SK native played in 270 contests, posting 80 goals and 92 assists for 172 points. He turned pro at the end of the 2014-15 season, playing for both Bridgeport of the AHL and Allen of the ECHL. Eberle was scoreless in six games with the AHL’s Sound Tigers. In five games with the Americans, the forward posted two goals and four points.

This weekend the Wild have a pair of games with the Lake Erie Monsters on Saturday, Nov. 7 and Sunday, Nov. 8. Saturday’s game will be at 7:00 p.m. at Wells Fargo Arena. Nov. 8th’s game takes place at 3 p.m. at Wells Fargo Arena. Sunday features the Sunday combo pack courtesy of Subway and Star 102.5 FM. Fans receive one ticket, one hot dog, one soda, and one Subway coupon starting at $12. The Wild travels to Grand Rapids for a game on Wednesday, Nov. 11 at 6:00 p.m.

Tickets are available online at www.Iowawild.com under the single game tickets tab. The Wells Fargo Arena box office is open Monday – Friday from 10:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. and closed on Sunday. For Saturday game days, the box office will open at 10 a.m. For Sunday game days the box office will open at 12 p.m. Fans may also purchase tickets by calling 1-844-55-HYVEE or by visiting participating Hy-Vee food stores locations in the greater Des Moines area. The Iowa Wild 2015-16 season is presented by Mercy Medical Center, it runs from October through April. Fans may purchase seats to see any of the team’s 38 regular season home games at Wells Fargo Arena. Season tickets to see the Wild play its 2015-16 season at Wells Fargo Arena start at just $9 per game.
