Iowa Welcomes Veteran Forward From NHL
Des Moines, IA – Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher on Thursday announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has reassigned forward Stephane Veilleux (pronounced steph-AWN vay-OOH) to the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Veilleux, 31 (11/16/81), was recalled on Oct. 9 and recorded 11 hits and six penalty minutes (PIM) in 10 games with Minnesota. The 6-foot-1, 200-pound native of St. Georges de Beauce, Que., has compiled 101 points (46-55=101) and 317 PIM in 460 NHL games with Minnesota, Tampa Bay and New Jersey. Veilleux ranks fifth in Wild history in hits (407), eighth in games played (392), ninth in PIM (269) and 11th in shots (558). He was originally selected by Minnesota in the third-round (93rd overall) of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
The Wild remains at home with the Texas Stars on Friday, Nov. 1 and Saturday, Nov. 2 at 7:05 PM. Friday night, fans may purchase $2.00 ten-ounce beers, presented by 100.3 The Bus. It is also Ladies Night, featuring special promotions catered towards women and a chance to win lunch with Iowa Wild defenseman Corbin Baldwin. Iowa rounds out its five-game homestand on Sunday, Nov. 3 with the Milwaukee Admirals. Fans may purchase the Subway Family Four Pack for the game, which features four tickets, four hot dogs, four hats, four sodas and Subway coupons starting at $44.
