MINNESOTA WILD RETURNS CHRISTOPH BERTSCHY AND GUSTAV OLOFSSON TO IOWA

DES MOINES, IA - Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher on Friday announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has assigned forward Christoph Bertschy (pronounced Burr-chee) and defenseman Gustav Olofsson (pronounced GOO-stahv OH-lawf-suhn) to the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL) under emergency conditions.            

Bertschy, 21 (4/5/94), totaled two shots and one hit in 8:08 of ice time in his NHL debut on Nov. 7 in the Wild's 1-0 win against Tampa Bay. The rookie forward is scoreless in two games with Minnesota. He has collected six points (2-4=6) including a power-play and shorthanded goal and 10 penalty minutes (PIM) in 14 games with Iowa this season. The rookie ranks T-1st on the team in goals and scoring. Bertschy collected 30 points (14-16=30), a plus-14 rating and 26 PIM in 44 games with SC Bern in the Swiss League in 2014-15. The 5-foot-10, 189-pound native of Fribourg, Switzerland was selected by Minnesota in the sixth round (158th overall) of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft and wears sweater No. 47 with Minnesota.

Olofsson, 20 (12/1/94), has recorded three assists in 15 games with Iowa this season. The 6-foot-3, 197-pound native of Boras, Sweden, has collected four points (1-3=4) and 33 shots on goal in 24 career AHL games with Iowa. Olofsson suffered a season-ending injury in Iowa's first game of the 2014-15 season. He collected eight points (4-4=8) in 30 games in his freshman campaign with Colorado College in 2013-14 and tallied five points (1-4=5) to help Sweden claim a silver medal at the 2014 World Junior Championship. Olofsson was selected by Minnesota in the second round (46th overall) of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. He has not appeared in a NHL game and will wear sweater No. 23 with Minnesota.

Iowa returns home for a pair of games with the Rockford IceHogs on Friday, Nov. 13 and Saturday, Nov. 14. The Wild is wearing specialty jerseys for “Veteran Appreciation” weekend. Friday’s game features the “Bring Your Buds” ticket package, including one ticket, one 16 oz. Bud or Bud Light at the Wild game, one hot dog, one popcorn, $1 discount for 25 oz. cans of Bud or Bud Light during the game, and one free Bud or Bud Light at Carl’s Place. Friday is also a $2 beer night sponsored by 100.3 The Bus.

The Wild and IceHogs rematch the following day at 7 p.m. Veterans Appreciation Weekend continues on Saturday with ALS night. The team is hosting a live jersey auction benefitting ALS Association of Iowa Chapter following the game. The first 1,500 fans to the game receive an Iowa Wild “Stars and Stripes” hat courtesy of Vatterott College and ALT 106.3. The “Legends Brewdog Pack” is also be available, including one ticket, beer, hot dog, and one free Bud or Bud Light at Legends American Grill.

Tickets are available online at www.Iowawild.com under the single game tickets tab. The Wells Fargo Arena box office is open Monday – Friday from 10:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. and closed on Sunday. For Saturday game days, the box office will open at 10 a.m. For Sunday game days the box office will open at 12 p.m. Fans may also purchase tickets by calling 1-844-55-HYVEE or by visiting participating Hy-Vee food stores locations in the greater Des Moines area. The Iowa Wild 2015-16 season is presented by Mercy Medical Center, it runs from October through April. Fans may purchase seats to see any of the team’s 38 regular season home games at Wells Fargo Arena. Season tickets to see the Wild play its 2015-16 season at Wells Fargo Arena start at just $9 per game.
