Iowa and Grand Rapids play for the first time since Friday, Nov. 5, 2021, when the Griffins defeated the Wild 6-5 in a thrilling overtime game. It is the second of eight matchups between the Wild and the Griffins this season.

On Tuesday, Jan. 4, Wild goaltender Trevin Kozlowski made a career-high 35 saves en route to a 3-2 shootout victory in Manitoba against the Moose. Wild forwards Kris Bennett and Adam Beckman both scored in the contest. Bennett’s tally was the first of his AHL career. In the shootout, Kozlowski turned away Moose forwards Mikey Eyssimont and Austin Poganski, and Beckman and Iowa forward Kyle Rau scored to give the Wild the victory.
