After falling to the Moose in game one of this two-game set, the Wild will battle Manitoba in a Halloween matinee today at 2 p.m. CT. Manitoba is riding a three-game winning streak, one that Iowa is working to break.

 

PREVIOUSLY ON THE POND

 

The Wild and the Moose faced off in game one of two yesterday, with the Moose prevailing by a score of 5-3. As previously mentioned, the win was Manitoba’s third victory in a row, as goaltender Mikhail Berdin stopped 32 of 35 shots in the contest. The Wild enjoyed success against the Moose last season, defeating Manitoba in five of their six meetings in 2020-21. Both teams converted on at least one power play chance in game one.

 

WILD TIMES

 

•    The Wild have yet to be outshot in a game this season.

•    Mitchell Chaffee recorded a season-high eight shots in yesterday’s loss.

•    Joe Hicketts scored the first goal of his Iowa Wild career and added an assist yesterday afternoon.

•    Both Ryan Kuffner and Kris Bennett appeared in an Iowa Wild game for the first time yesterday.

 

MOTORING MANITOBA

 

•    Forward Thomas Caron and defenseman Simon Lundmark both scored their first AHL goal yesterday.

•    In yesterday’s game alone, the Moose doubled their goal differential on the season.

•    Leading scorer Mikey Eyssimont left in the first period of yesterday’s game due to injury.

•    Forward Evan Polei was the only player on either team with a plus-three rating or higher in game one of two in this set.

 

The Wild are back in action against the Grand Rapids Griffins on Friday, Nov. 5 at 6 p.m. CT at the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.
