Iowa and Milwaukee face off against one another for the fourth time this season, with the Wild having taken two of the first three matchups by a combined score of 11-8.

 

PREVIOUSLY ON THE POND

 

The last time the Wild took the ice was on Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2021, in Rockford against the IceHogs. Iowa forwards Nate Sucese and Nick Swaney, and Wild defenseman Turner Ottenbreit all scored in the game. Despite a shootout goal from Wild forward Joseph Cramarossa, Iowa fell in the shootout, 4-3. The goals from Sucese and Ottenbreit were their first tallies of the 2021-22 season, and Sucese’s goal was his first as a member of the Iowa Wild.

 

IOWA IMPROVEMENT

 

  • After scoring one goal in three combined games against Chicago, the Wild scored three against Rockford on Dec. 8.
  • Wild defenseman Joe Hicketts is T-1st in goals scored (5) and T-5th in points (15) amongst AHL defensemen.
  • Iowa forward Mason Shaw made his NHL debut with Minnesota in San Jose on Dec. 9 after being recalled on Dec. 6.
  • Despite falling in their last five contests, Iowa has a plus-6 goal differential on the season.

 

ADMIRALS ACTIONS

 

  • Milwaukee is the only team in last place in their division to be in the top five for power play percentage (21.5%).
  • The Admirals have won two consecutive games by a combined score of 9-5.
  • Milwaukee defenseman David Farrance is T-4th amongst AHL rookie defensemen in points scored (10).
  • Admirals forward Cole Schneider is T-4th in the AHL in points scored (21).
