WILD SIGNS FORWARD MATT BOLDY TO THREE-YEAR, ENTRY-LEVEL CONTRACT

Minnesota Wild General Manager Bill Guerin today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has signed forward Matt Boldy to a three-year, entry-level contract starting this season. He will begin his professional career with the Iowa Wild in the American Hockey League (AHL).

Boldy, 19, tallied 31 points (11-20=31) in 22 games with Boston College this season. The sophomore led the Eagles in scoring, goals, assists, power-play points (9), power-play assists (7) and shots on goal (71). He ranked T-1st in the NCAA in shorthanded goals and T-11th in scoring and assists. Boldy was named a Hobey Baker Award Top Ten Finalist on March 17. He tallied nine points (3-6=9) in his last four games and recorded a career-high five points (1-4=5) vs. UMass Lowell on Feb. 12.

The 6-foot-2, 195-pound native of Milford, Mass., tallied seven points (5-2=7) in seven games to help the United States win the gold medal at 2021 IIHF World Junior Championship. Boldy ranked T-1st on Team USA in goals, second in TOI/game (18:31) and T-4th in scoring and led the tournament with three power-play goals.

He recorded 56 points (19-37=56) in 55 games during two seasons with Boston College. Boldy was selected by Minnesota in the first round (12th overall) of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft.
