   IOWA WILD PARTICIPATES IN MOVEMBER

Team and Staff to Grow Moustaches for Cancers that Affect Men

Des Moines, IA – The Iowa Wild announced on Monday the team will participate in Movember, a month-long initiative to raise awareness about cancers that affect men.

Throughout the month of November, Iowa Wild players and staff will grow moustaches to serve as walking billboards for Movember, a month-long initiative to help raise vital awareness and funds for men's health, specifically prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men.

Numerous hockey players and thousands of men around the world become "Mo Bros" by participating in Movember each November. Mo Bros try to "groom, trim and wax their way into the annals of fine moustachery" by raising funds for their efforts alongside the women in their lives, known as "Mo Sistas." Participants start on Nov. 1 with clean-shaven faces to raise awareness by prompting conversations about the often-ignored issue of men's health.

Fans can donate online at http://moteam.co/iowa-wild-mo-crew. The name of the team online is the Iowa Wild Mo Crew. Weekly moustache progress photos and updates will be posted to iowawild.com and the team's social media channels. Wild fans that make donations will be rewarded. Every fan that makes a donation of $25 or more will receive two free tickets to an upcoming Wild home game. On Dec.1, the fan determined to have made the largest donation to the Wild’s Mo Crew Page will be awarded a suite for an upcoming Wild home game.

Funds raised in the U.S. support prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men, through programs run directly by Movember and its men's health partners, the Prostate Cancer Foundation and LIVESTRONG. The Movember Foundation is the leading global organization committed to changing the face of men’s health. The Movember community has raised $559 million to date and funded over 800 programs in 21 countries. This work is saving and improving the lives of men affected by prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health problems. The Movember Foundation challenges men to grow moustaches during Movember (formerly known as November), to spark conversation and raise vital funds for its men’s health programs. To date, 4 million moustaches have been grown worldwide. All funds support a broad range of innovative, world-class programs in line with Movember's strategic goals in the areas of awareness and education, survivorship and research.
