IOWA OPENS PRESEASON WITH 3-0 SHUTOUT OF MANITOBA
Sep 25, 2026SAINT PAUL, Minn. - William Rousseau and Chase Wutzke combined for a 27-save shutout as the Iowa Wild earned a 3-0 victory over the Manitoba Moose at TRIA Rink on Friday afternoon. Mitchell Wolfe added a goal and an assist in the first of Iowa’s two preseason games.
Riley Heidt opened the scoring for Iowa on the power play 13:19 into the contest. After Hunter Haight sent the puck to the goal line, Jagger Joshua spun a pass to the front that Heidt poked across the goal line.
The Moose outshot the Wild 9-6 in the opening frame.
Nick Rhéaume collected the rebound of Wolfe’s point shot and slipped a backhand past Alex Worthington (19 saves) 1:59 into the second period. Blake Biondi picked up a secondary assist on Rhéaume’s tally.
Rousseau stopped 20 shots in two shutout periods. Wutzke (seven saves) replaced Rousseau for the third period.
Wolfe netted Iowa’s third goal with 6:28 remaining.
Manitoba outshot Iowa 27-22. The Wild finished 1-for-2 on the power play and killed all three man advantage opportunities against.
Iowa and Manitoba meet again on Saturday, Sept. 26 at TRIA Rink.
