Iowa Heads to Charlotte for Central Division Showdown

DES MOINES, IA  – Iowa Wild General Manager Brent Flahr announced on Monday that the American Hockey League (AHL) club has reassigned center Adam Gilmour to the Quad City Mallards, Iowa’s ECHL affiliate.  In addition, defenseman Mike Sdao (suh-day-oh) has been released from a professional tryout agreement (PTO).

Gilmour, 23 (1/29/94), returns to the Mallards for his second stint of the season. The rookie center recently played in five games for Quad City, scoring once and setting up three others for four points. The 6-foot-4, 200-pounder has played in 52 games for Iowa this season, scoring four goals and totaling 10 points. Gilmour was drafted by the Minnesota Wild in the fourth round (#98 overall) of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.

Sdao, 27 (7/3/89), scored one goal in two games for Iowa. He returns to the ECHL’s Colorado Eagles, where he posted nine goals and 13 points in 52 games played. Over the course of his four-year career, the 6-foot-4, 230-pounder has played in 137 AHL games, scoring 10 goals and totaling 23 points, as well as adding 336 minutes in penalties.


After a brief road trip with two games in Charlotte and two in Cleveland, Iowa returns home to play the Rockford IceHogs on Tuesday, March 28 at 7 PM. It is Kids Eat Free night, presented by Goodhue-Nolte Insurance and 96.5 Country. Fans may bring in a Subway receipt to purchase a ticket for only $5. It is also a mug club night.

Iowa welcomes the Chicago Wolves on Friday, March 31 at 7 PM. Race Car night is presented by NAPA Auto Parts and Freedom Tires. The first 1,500 fans to arrive receive a family car decal presented by Star 102.5. It is also $2 Beer night presented by 100.3 The BUS. Collegeville packs are available for purchase at the game, sponsored by KISS FM and Buffalo Wild Wings. The St. Patrick’s Day themed specialty jerseys, worn by the Iowa Wild for all three home games in March, are auctioned off at the live postgame jersey auction on Friday, Mar. 31.
