IOWA WILD ANNOUNCES NEW LEARN TO PLAY PROGRAM
Jul 14, 2017Kids Ages Four to 12 May Participate in the Junior Crash Course
DES MOINES, IA – The Iowa Wild, proud American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the NHL’s Minnesota Wild, announced on Friday details of a new learn-to-play program called the Junior Crash Course, presented by West Bend, and sponsored by AVS Concepts, CCM, JT's slapshot and Leafguard by home solutions of central Iowa.
“We are thrilled to introduce this new and exciting program to central Iowa,” said Iowa Wild President Todd Frederickson. “This Junior Crash Course provides kids with a great opportunity to learn the game of hockey at no cost, in large part due to our partners support of their local community. Growing the game of hockey has been our mission since arriving in Des Moines five years ago and we will continue to do so.”
The Junior Crash Course is a new program created to help youth hockey players in central Iowa learn how to skate and play hockey. Kids between the ages of four and 12 may register online at www.Iowawild.com/juniorcrashcourse. The program is composed of six sessions scheduled to run from September to October. The Junior Crash Course is designed to introduce the game of hockey at the beginner level while providing kids with free equipment from CCM, which includes: a helmet, skates, stick, hockey bag and protective pads.

The Iowa Wild 2017-18 season is presented by Mercy Medical Center: and runs from October through April. Fans may purchase seats to see any of the team’s 38 regular season home games at Wells Fargo Arena.
