IOWA WILD AT THE OLYMPIC WINTER GAMES
Feb 11, 2026The Olympic Winter Games are in full swing, and current and former Iowa Wild players are making their mark across the hockey tournament.
Goaltender Samuel Hlavaj (Slovakia) and defenseman David Spacek (Czechia) were chosen to represent their respective countries, while Christoph Bertschy (Switzerland), Matt Boldy (United States), Louis Boudon (France), Joel Eriksson Ek (Sweden), Erik Haula (Finland), Darcy Kuemper (Canada), Nico Sturm (Germany), and Jesper Wallstedt (Sweden) make up a large contingent of Iowa alumni.

Samuel Hlavaj made 38 saves in his Olympic debut to power Slovakia to a 4-1 upset of Finland in the tournament’s opening game.
