IOWA WILD SIGNS FORWARD JACK O’BRIEN TO PTO, RECALLS GOALTENDER WILLIAM ROUSSEAU
Nov 28, 2025DES MOINES, Iowa – Iowa Wild General Manager Matt Hendricks today announced the American Hockey League (AHL) club has signed forward Jack O’Brien to a professional try-out contract (PTO) and recalled goaltender William Rousseau from the Iowa Heartlanders (ECHL).
O’Brien, 22 (5/14/2003), has recorded 18 points (10-8=18), eight penalty minutes (PIM), and a minus-1 rating in 17 games with the Heartlanders this season. O’Brien posted 17 points (7-10=17), 18 PIM, and a plus-1 rating in 35 games with the Heartlanders in 2024-25.
Prior to his professional career, the 6-foot-1, 168-pound native of Denver, Colo., skated in 255 games across five seasons (2019-24) with the Portland Winterhawks (WHL), where he posted 194 points (63-131=194), 180 PIM, and a plus-74 rating. O’Brien also played for the Lincoln Stars (USHL) in 2020-21, where he recorded seven points (1-6=7), 22 PIM, and a minus-4 rating in 23 games.
O’Brien will wear sweater No. 29 for Iowa.
Rousseau, 22 (1/9/2003) has posted a 2-4-2 record with a 3.73 goals-against average (GAA) and a .878 save percentage (SV%) in nine games with the Heartlanders this season. Rousseau recorded a 1-1-1 record with a 2.38 GAA and a .921 SV% with the Iowa Wild in 2024-25. The Trois-Rivières, Québec native went 17-7-5 with a 2.69 GAA and a .911 SV% in 29 games with the Heartlanders in 2024-25.
Prior to his professional career, Rousseau played 137 games across four seasons in the QMJHL with the Québec Remparts (2020-23) and the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies (2023-24), where he accumulated a record of 95-26-3 with a 2.35 GAA and a .910 SV%. Rousseau also appeared in 36 playoff games in his final three junior seasons and posted a record of 26-10-0 with a 2.43 GAA and a .911 SV%.
