SAINT PAUL, Minn. – Minnesota Wild President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Bill Guerin today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled forward Adam Beckman from the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL) and placed forward Marcus Johansson (lower body) on Injured Reserve. The Iowa Wild also recalled forward Pavel Novak from the Iowa Heartlanders of the ECHL. 

Beckman, 22 (5/10/01), has recorded 29 points (16-13=29), 22 penalty minutes (PIM), three game-winning goals (GWG) and 136 shots in 48 games with Iowa this season. He leads Iowa skaters in goals and shots while ranking second in GWG and third in points. The 6-foot-2, 194-pound native of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, has appeared in 12 career NHL games over the course of two seasons (2021-23) with Minnesota, posting one assist and 16 shots. Beckman has skated in 178 career AHL games over four seasons (2020-24) with Iowa, tallying 104 points (54-50=104), 68 PIM, 13 power-play goals (PPG) and five GWG. He ranked second on Iowa with 24 goals during the 2022-23 AHL season. 

The Wild selected Beckman in the third round (75th overall) of the 2019 NHL Draft. He wears sweater No. 11 with Minnesota. 

Novak, 21 (4/16/02), owns three points (2-1=3), a minus-1 rating and six PIM through 12 games with the Wild. He has also posted 17 points (8-9=17), a minus-17 rating and 20 PIM in 29 games with the Heartlanders this season. He collected 72 points (29-43=72), a plus-26 rating and 14 PIM in 62 games with the Kelowna Rockets in the Western Hockey League (WHL) in 2021-22. Novak ranked T-1st on the team in goals, second in scoring, assists and plus/minus rating, third in power play goals (8) and shots on goal (208) and recorded 20 multi-point games. Novak was named to the WHL B.C. Division Second All-Star Team and recorded two hat tricks during 2021-22 (3/26 vs. Kamloops and 10/30 vs. Victoria). The 5-foot-10, 183-pound forward is a native of Tabor, Czech Republic.  

Novak tallied two points (1-1=2) in two games for Czechia at the 2022 IIHF World Junior Championship and collected three points (1-2=3) in five games at the 2021 IIHF World Junior Championship. He skated in 15 games with Ceske Budejovice HC in the Czech Republic League in 2020-21. Novak tallied 58 points (25-33=58) in 55 games with Kelowna in 2019-20. He led the team in scoring and ranked T-2nd among WHL rookies in assists, third in scoring and fourth in goals.  
Minnesota selected Novak in the fifth round (146th overall) of the 2020 NHL Draft. Novak wears sweater No. 8 with the Iowa Wild.
