MINNESOTA RECALLS O’REILLY, REASSIGNS REILLY TO IOWA

Iowa and Manitoba Faceoff at 7 p.m. Tonight

DES MOINES, IA – Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher announced on Saturday the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled forward Cal O'Reilly from the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL) and reassigned defenseman Mike Reilly to Iowa.

O'Reilly, 31 (9/30/86), has tallied three points (1-2=3) including a shorthanded goal in five contests with Iowa this season. The 6-foot, 188-pound native of Toronto, Ontario, recorded one assist in 11 games with the Buffalo Sabres and 50 points (9-41=50) in 62 games with the Rochester Americans and the Toronto Marlies in the AHL last season. He added seven points (1-6=7) in 11 Calder Cup playoff games with the Marlies. O'Reilly collected seven points (3-4=7) in 20 NHL contests with the Buffalo Sabres and 29 points (6-23=29) in 47 AHL games with Rochester during the 2015-16 season. He owns 49 points (16-33=49) in 144 career NHL contests during parts of six seasons with Nashville, Arizona, Pittsburgh and Buffalo (2008-12, 2015-17).

O'Reilly was originally selected by Nashville in the fifth round (150th overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. He was signed as a free agent by Minnesota to a two-year, two-way contract on July 1, 2017. O'Reilly will wear sweater No. 18 with the Wild.

Reilly, 24 (7/13/93), has tallied three power-play assists in four games with Minnesota this season averaging 12:25 in TOI/game. He has also recorded one goal in one game with Iowa this season. The 6-foot-2, 195-pound native of Chicago, Ill., owns 11 points (2-9=11) in 50 career NHL games with the Wild.

Iowa and Manitoba faceoff again on Saturday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. at Wells Fargo Arena. There is a pregame tailgate party, showcasing the local concert series performance. Decoy performs from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on the South Side Patio. In case of inclement weather, the show will be moved inside. Fans may purchase two tallboys for $10 for the local concert series. The Brewdog pack is also available for purchase at the game.

The Wild hosts the IceHogs in Des Moines on Wednesday, Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. It is Wine Wednesday with $2 off Barefoot refresh presented by Barefoot Wine. 

After a pair of road games in Tucson, Iowa returns home to meet the San Antonio Rampage on Thursday, Nov. 2 at 7 p.m. Dollar dog night with $1 hotdogs, $1 pretzels and $1 small popcorn is presented by LAZER 100.3. Trivia night takes place in “The Fort,” previously known as the River’s Edge Restaurant, before the game.
