2019 – Iowa Wild (1) vs. Texas Stars (4)

Forward Dmitry Sokolov scored the lone goal for the Wild in this contest as the team suffered a 4-1 loss at the hands of the Texas Stars. Sokolov’s tally came midway through the second period, knotting the game at 1-1 when he split the Stars defense and roofed a shot for his 16th and final goal of the season. Texas added two goals in the third period as Stars forward Brad McClure scored a hat trick and goaltender Jake Oettinger earned his first professional win.

2018 – Iowa Wild (4) vs. Tucson Roadrunners (6)

Iowa and Tucson exploded for eight goals through the first two periods, setting up the third period with the score tied at 4-4, but the Roadrunners pulled away for a 6-4 win. Forward Sam Anas netted his 23rd goal of the season in the contest, which set a new franchise record for goals in a season, which has since been broken by Gerry Mayhew in 2019-20. Defenseman Louie Belpedio also earned his first professional point on the play.

2017 – Tuch Named Wild’s IOA/American Specialty Man of the Year

It was an off-day for the Wild, but forward Alex Tuch was named the organization’s 2017 IOA/American Specialty Man of the Year. In his rookie season, Tuch was a staple in the community, participating in events such as surprising a youth hockey practice in Ames, visiting police departments in Des Moines and Urbandale, and allowing fans to dye his beard before shaving it and his head for St. Baldrick’s. He was also named the Wild’s Community Player of the Month for December.

2016 – Iowa Wild (2) vs. Manitoba Moose (3)

Wild forward Chase Lang recorded his first professional point (a goal) but the Wild ultimately fell to the Manitoba Moose, led by goaltender Connor Hellebuyck. The Wild trailed 1-0 heading into the third and Lang’s tally gave the Wild a shot to tie it with 92 seconds left in the contest, but Iowa couldn’t get the game-tying goal. Forward Alex Petan also earned his first career point (an assist) in the contest.

2015 - Minnesota Wild signs defenseman Zach Palmquist to Entry-Level Contract

A staple on the Wild blueline for four seasons, it all started on March 30, 2015 as defenseman Zach Palmquist signed his entry-level contract with the Wild organization. Palmquist finished his Wild career with 69 points (12g, 57a) in 216 games during the course of those four seasons, highlighted by a career-year in 2017-18 with a 34-point campaign (6g, 28a).

2014 – Iowa Wild (2) at Utica Comets (3)

Iowa faced off against Utica for the fourth and last time in team history when the team fell to the Comets by a score of 3-2. The Wild jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period as forward Brad Winchester scored 19th goal of the season (his third with the Wild after a mid-season trade), but Utica overcame the deficit with two goals in the second and the game-winning tally early in the third. The contest also featured future Wild member Cal O’Reilly recording an assist on Utica’s second goal.
