Iowa Wild Returns Home To Host Manitoba Friday at 7 PM

DES MOINES, IA – Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher on Wednesday announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled forwards Landon Ferraro, Luke Kunin (pronounced KUHN-in) and Zack Mitchell from the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Ferraro, 26 (8/8/91), scored a goal in his first game with Minnesota on Oct. 14 against Columbus and has tallied two assists and leads Iowa with 12 shots on goal in three games this season. He collected 15 points (7-8=15) and 12 PIM in 22 games with the Chicago Wolves (AHL) in 2016-17. The 6-foot, 176-pound native of Trail, British Columbia, owns 12 points (7-5=12) and 29 penalty minutes (PIM) in 76 career NHL contests with Detroit, Boston and Minnesota. Ferraro was signed by the Wild as a free agent on July 1, 2017.

Kunin, 19 (12/4/97), skated 13:53 in his NHL debut vs. Columbus on Oct. 14 and has tallied two points (1-1=2) and four PIM in two games with Iowa this season. The 6-foot, 193-pound native of Chesterfield, Mo., totaled 38 points (22-16=38) and 30 PIM in 35 contests during his sophomore season at the University of Wisconsin (Big Ten) in 2016-17. He led the Badgers in goals, points, PPG (9) and shots on goal (112) and served as the team's first sophomore captain in 41 years. Kunin also served as the captain of Team USA at the 2017 IIHF World Junior Championship, helping the U.S. capture a gold medal with four points (2-2=4) in seven games. He was selected by Minnesota in the first round (15th overall) of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft.

Mitchell, 24 (1/7/93), notched his first career NHL point with an assist on Landon Ferraro's goal against Columbus on Oct. 14 and has recorded one assist in three games with Iowa. He appeared in 11 games with Minnesota in 2016-17, making his NHL debut at Pittsburgh on Nov. 10, 2016. The 6-foot-1, 196-pound forward registered 22 points (11-11=22) and 10 PIM in 62 games with Iowa in 2016-17, leading the club with eight power-play goals. The native of Orangeville, Ont., originally signed with Minnesota as a free agent on March 4, 2014.

Iowa returns home to meet the Manitoba Moose on Friday, Oct. 20 at 7 p.m. Ladies Night is presented by Style Encore. It is also a Bus Beer night with $2 beers presented by 100.3 The Bus. There is also a $2 off Barefoot Refresh special presented by Barefoot Wine. The Collegeville ticket special is available for purchase at the game presented by KISS FM.

Iowa and Manitoba faceoff again on Saturday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. at Wells Fargo Arena. There is a pregame tailgate party, showcasing the local concert series performance. Decoy performs from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on the South Side Patio. Fans may purchase two tallboys for $10 for the local concert series. The Brewdog pack is also available for purchase at the game.
